The very first project that I worked on were cards to mail to my bridal party asking them if they would be my maid of honor/bridesmaid. 

I mailed each of my girls these cute packages with the cut-out people made to resemble each one of them.  I then used a pocket fold invitation (bought from cards & pockets) and asked each girl via writing to stand up with me.  I also provided info on each girl with contact info and a detail card which stated when and where the wedding would be held.  All the girls LOVED them!
